3.Criteria and Responsibilities
Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor under the Export Max Cohort IV Mentorship & Advocacy Programme. Please review the below criteria and responsibilities associated with becoming a mentor of this programme:

Criteria for becoming a Mentor:
- Minimum 8 years’ senior leadership experience
- Experience in export markets and/or sector-specific knowledge relevant to mentees
- Proven mentoring or coaching experience
- Dedicate 2 hours (minimum) monthly, per mentee
- Sign to a Mentorship Agreement once selected for the program
- Work with the mentee in developing a Strategic Roadmap
- Willingness to participate in feedback and reporting
- Alignment with the objectives of the Export Max Programme
Responsibilities – Mentor:
- Meet with your mentee(s) and/or engage in mentoring activities in-person, or virtually
- Willingly share your experience and professional success in the organization
- Look for experiences that will stretch the mentee (i.e., shadowing during meetings, suggested readings, etc.)
- Stay accessible, committed, and engaged during the length of the program
- Listen well and provide open and candid feedback
- Offer encouragement through genuine positive reinforcement
- Share “lessons learned” from their own experiences
- Be a resource and a sounding board
- Keep your conversations confidential
- Let the Mentorship Program Coordinator know as soon as possible if you are having a problem connecting with your mentee.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for program improvement
