Pledge to Erase the Waste: Customers

Bainbridge Island businesses are pledging to help “Erase the Waste” by getting a jump-start on the new requirements coming in 2023 for retail food and lodging establishments to reduce single-use plastic waste associated with onsite dining, to-go food orders, and packaging for personal care products.

As a customer, you can help by also pledging to reduce single-use plastic waste.

Carrying a reusable water bottle instead of buying bottled water. 

Declining disposable take-out boxes or bringing my own reusable container.

Bringing my own reusable produce bag to the grocery store.

Visiting the City’s Zero Waste website to learn more about single-use plastics and the local businesses that have made commitments to waste reduction.

Completing at least one waste reduction action from the Bainbridge Island Climate Smart Challenge.
