The one closest to the park is a natural wetland (one of only a few in the city) and the other is a man-made wetland, designed to capture and hold excess water from the area. These wetlands are a distinctive feature of our neighbourhood and also serve as a natural habitat for waterfowl and other animals. The hardscaping features in both wetlands include bridges and viewing decks. These were initially installed by the Developer and turned over to the Homeowners Association to look after and maintain. However, these features require regular maintenance and are expensive to maintain.
