Introduction

This survey asks female ministers how they have overcome misogyny and found alternate leadership routes. Your replies will help us find patterns across race, age, denomination, and experience for our research on empowering narratives and ministry tactics for women. It will take about 16 minutes to complete.

Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Rios and Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Mosbo VerHage, both women ministers, are conducting the research and will examine it as participant observers. A pastoral study grant from the Louisville Institute sponsors this research. We can be reached at:
Dr. Rios, drlizrios@gmail.com
Dr. VerHage, LMVerhage@gmail.com

We appreciate your time and input. As you continue, please note that some survey questions may generate intense emotions or memories for some participants. We're here to help if you need support or someone to chat to following this survey. Spiritual directors trained to provide compassionate assistance and guidance are available. If you feel overwhelmed or distressed, know that help is available via referral at the end of this survey. Your answers will be anonymized and used for research purposes and may be shared in publications and academic or ecclesial presentations. However, no personal information will be shared beyond the researchers.

Please submit your completed survey by June 1 close of business. We would like to compensate you for your time. The first 200 complete submissions (no skipped answers) will receive a $25 gift card.
