Job Application - 2019

AKASPORT is currently seeking active professionals to coach/instruct/work with kids in its many upcoming winter, spring and summer programs in its 15th year of operations. Flexible hours, working with kids through sports, perfect for Physical Education, Childhood Development, and Education majors, as well as parents, mentors, and sports enthusiasts. 

AKASPORT’s mission is to get kids (and families) more active with sport and exercise by creating and operating youth sports programs and healthy opportunities.  AKASPORT strives to engage kids and STAFF to play and work hard and to enjoy themselves in active, SAFE, and sports related environments. Programs and Positions include:

2019 After School Sports Programming – (January-May) - Multi-Sports programs at various schools (4 school districts) and centers in the Twin Cities suburbs. Seeking coaches or teachers with experience and/or education working with kids, sports, physical education or childhood development. Typical hours range between 3:00-5:30pm. Pay is between $15-$30 per hour (select hours) depending on experience and number of hours available.  (Interviews available to schedule within 24 hours!  Programs start soon.)

2019 AKA All Sports Summer Camps – (May-August) - Multiple locations.  This is the ideal summer employment for any college student or teacher / physical education professional.  Each Summer Camp week features a different sport, theme and field trip.  Seeking coaches or teachers with experience and/or education working with kids, sports, physical education or childhood development.  Daily schedule shifts vary depending on your Full Time or Part Time Staff status.  Flexible scheduling throughout the summer.  Pay is between $9-$15 per hour (10-45 hours per week, based on experience). 
o  Adrenaline Sports Center, Ramsey, MN (June 10 – August 30)
o  Centennial High School, Circle Pines, MN (June 10 – August 30)
o  Hopkins Pavilion, Hopkins, MN (June 10 – August 30)
o  National Sports Center in Blaine, MN (June 10 – August 30)
o  Select Schools throughout the North Metro, MN (June 10 – August 30)

Junior Assistant Staff – Ages 15-17 (June-August).  In conjunction with the AKA All Sports Summer Camps (all locations listed above), AKASPORT provides positions for young leaders looking to gain experience by volunteering time to help with the program.  These positions emulate shadow roles for Junior Assistants to gain experience, to learn from and support the main Staff as well as to play with the kids.  Paid opportunities available but limited.  Volunteer hours vary depending on how much you want to be part. 

Volunteer Opportunities – AKASPORT is always looking for volunteers, sports enthusiasts, and child development teachers and supporters.  Contact us if interested in opportunities. 

Be sure to elaborate on your skills, your sports background and your experience working with children in athletic, education and creativity settings.  Be as complete and informative as possible.  There is no timetable (submit whenever) however the AKA All Sports Camp apps are due February 28.
