Experience the Outback Eclipse in 2028!

On Saturday, 22 July 2028, a rare total solar eclipse will sweep across Australia, placing Queensland's Diamantina region in the spotlight for an extraordinary astronomical event.

With approximately four and a half minutes of totality expected in Bedourie and Betoota, visitors will have a remarkable opportunity to experience the eclipse against the spectacular backdrop of the Australian Outback.

From wide-open skies and breathtaking landscapes to unique outback experiences, local hospitality and potential special events, Diamantina is preparing to welcome visitors for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We're keen to hear from you!

We're inviting potential visitors to register their interest and tell us more about their travel plans, accommodation preferences and the experiences they'd like to enjoy.

Your feedback will help guide planning for visitor facilities, accommodation, activities and events, including a proposed music festival in Betoota.

The survey takes approximately 3 minutes to complete.

Please note: This is an expression of interest only. Completing the survey does not constitute a booking or guarantee accommodation, event tickets or other services.
