Problematic Packaging Survey

Problematic Packaging Survey

As the National Packaging Targets' deadline approaches, it is timely to consider packaging formats that are especially problematic for organisations to eliminate by 2025.

Packaging may be deemed as problematic because it is difficult to change (lack of alternates, supply issues, concerns over product shelf life, concerns over operational/packaging machinery compatibility, etc.) and/or be relatively small by volume/weight.

Examples of such formats include, but are not limited to: kimbles (to attach price tags), bread tags, netting (e.g. for fruit and meat), meat skewers, soaker pads (e.g. for fruit, fish, meat), metal clips (e.g. for pet food packs), sticks (e.g. for ice cream), medical strips (e.g. for band aids, feminine hygiene products), induction seals, oxygen scavengers.

This survey seeks to gather a broad understanding of the problematic packaging formats for your organisation and to develop a strategy to address such packaging moving forward. Please provide as much information as available to build this understanding as completely as possible.

The survey itself is 10 questions long and should take 5-10 minutes to complete. The expectation is that the survey will be completed by 17th March 2023.
