Scholarships: Rail~Volution seeks to ensure that our transit and community development conference is a welcoming place where people from diverse backgrounds and positions are able to learn, network and belong. We recognize that attending a conference involves a financial commitment that cannot always be supported by an individual or their organization. Each year we provide a limited number of scholarships to reduce or eliminate these financial barriers.
Who are scholarships for? Applications are reviewed and approved based on demonstrated need (could this individual otherwise attend the conference?) and potential for impact (someone heavily involved in transit- or development- related activities in their community is likely to be ranked above someone expressing a general interest). We prioritize applicants from nonprofit organizations (especially community-based organizations), elected/appointed officials with constrained budgets, and community advocates, especially those who identify as Black/Indigenous/Person of Color. We are only able to award one scholarship per person. If you have received a scholarship to attend a Rail~Volution conference before, you are not eligible to re-apply.
***Local scholarships are available for residents of Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties.***
What do scholarships cover? Local scholarships cover registration costs so there is no charge to attend. Mobile workshop tickets are not included as part of the scholarship program.
