Unfortunately, the runaway situation is only getting worse. A reporter was told by law enforcement that the runaway situation has reached 'epidemic proportion'. Another reported an organization saying for the first time in their history they have had to turn teens away as they were 'at capacity and overextended'. Recently, I heard 2 reports that talked about how the economy has made an even more dramatic impact. One reported a parent kicked their kid out because they 'could not afford them'. Another reported an interview where people were saying not to help kids on the street because it 'enables' them. I want to start this survey to find out who is affected, what affect it has on the child and family and also what can be done to either help or prevent homelessness.
