On January 1st of this year, our churches moved from a Conference-sponsored health plan to a healthcare stipend.  We asked for this change by vote at 2016 Annual Conference in order to maintain sound financial stewardship of our Pension and Benefits funds and sustain the stability of a healthy retirement plan for our clergy.

Clergy had the option of choosing a church-sponsored health plan (if one was offered) or receive a stipend based on their family size:  $9,000 for single clergy; $12,000 for clergy + 1 dependent or clergy couple; and $15,000 for a clergy with 2 or more dependents.

In various ways, this new plan has affected clergy and churches.  We have recently sent a 2nd survey to clergy to assess their satisfaction with this plan and now we’d like to hear from you.

We would like some feedback from our church SPRC regarding implementation of either the health stipend or offering a church provided health plan for your pastors, and how easy or difficult that may have been to administrate. Your feedback is critically important to us as we continue to explore healthcare plans for our clergy.

Please take a moment to complete the attached 6-question survey and feel free to share any other comments, questions or concerns you may have.  You have the option to respond anonymously or give your name and church.

We thank you sincerely for participating.
