The lack of permeable surfaces in the Friendship neighborhood has become a serious problem as the storm runoff mixes into our city’s sewage system, carrying toxic chemicals into the rivers. As a response to this problem the Friendship Community Group’s Neighborhood and Environment committee will address this challenge by helping residents learn ways to utilize the rain as a neighborhood resource.

Our first step through this survey is to determine how many residents have rain barrels? And if given the opportunity to receive a rain barrel, would you be interested in getting one for your house? Through the information you provide to us, we would like to build a living map of Friendship, marking sustained efforts of sustainable stormwater management in the neighborhood.

Question Title

* 1. The rain barrel system collects and stores rainwater from your roof that would otherwise be lost to runoff into storm drains and streams. Do you have a rain barrel installed in your house?

Question Title

* 5. If you are interested in this initiative or would like to join a list of other residents wanting a rain barrel, please give us your email address for further communication.

Question Title

* 6. Lastly, do you have any additional feedback on prior experiences with rain barrels, like installing or using a rain barrel? If you already have a rain barrel, can you tell us a little bit about how you use it, for example, do you use the rainwater to water flowers, wash car, etc.?

Thank you for participating in this survey and joining us in the commitment to reducing the annual amount of rain that flows into the sewage system.
