This annual award is given in honor and memory of Walter Brodbeck, a long-time member of the Greater Peoria Family YMCA. Mr. Brodbeck was a dedicated volunteer, encouraging participation in the YMCA and commitment to the community. This award goes to a Peoria YMCA member, who provides service on a volunteer basis to the Y, in the spirit of Mr. Brodbeck.

Mr Brodbeck's personal and professional lifestyle was a testament to:
  • THE Y'S MISSION: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
  • THE Y'S FOCUS: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
  • THE Y'S CORE VALUES: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
