Help Us Advocate for Better Childcare on the Mid North Coast
At RDA Mid North Coast (RDAMNC), we know that finding accessible, affordable Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) remains a real struggle for many families in our region.
In 2023, we surveyed families and ECEC providers to understand the true scale of the challenge. What we found was striking — only 65% of childcare demand on the Mid North Coast is being met, and local families are losing an estimated $384 million per year in wages as a result. You can read the full summary and economic analysis on our website at rdamnc.org.au/projects/childcare-on-the-mid-north-coast/.
It's now 2026, and both the Federal and State Governments have announced a raft of changes across the ECEC sector over the past couple of years. We want to know — have these reforms actually made a difference for families here on the Mid North Coast?
That's where you come in.
We're inviting parents and families to complete a short 5-minute survey to help us build an up-to-date picture of childcare access in our region. Your responses directly support our advocacy efforts to push for increased ECEC availability where it's needed most.
A note on the pay range question:
We ask about your approximate pay range so we can calculate a more accurate picture of the economic impact that limited childcare access is having on families and the broader regional economy. This isn't about individual circumstances — it helps us demonstrate the real dollar cost when parents can't access the care they need to participate fully in the workforce.
