Terms, Conditions and Eligibility Criteria

Applications open 9am Monday, August 3, 2020 and close at 5pm Monday, August 31, 2020

Successful applicants will receive $550.00 inc GST that must be spent on an eligible e-commerce activity, as indicated in the application, before March 31, 2021.

While co-contributions are not compulsory, successful applicants who request services valued in excess of the grant amount will be responsible for any and all fees owed to e-commerce service providers.
Purpose

E-Commerce Grants are being offered to allow businesses to establish a new e-commerce platform for online sales / bookings OR to improve or expand existing e-commerce platform.

Eligible Activities

Eligible Activities may include the:
- creation of new website with e-commerce capabilities,
- development of new app with e-commerce capabilities,
- addition of e-commerce capabilities (e.g. online store / booking platform) to existing website,
- development of Facebook page with e-commerce capabilities, or
- improvement / expansion of existing e-commerce platform using content creation, Search Engine Optimisation or new photographic content.
NOTE:  Hosting fees are only eligible if a new website is being established under the grant activities.

Ineligible Activities

Grant money cannot be used for:
- creating an e-commerce strategy;
- e-commerce training; or
- marketing expenses. 
 
Activities must be performed by a local business or professional with demonstrated relevant experience and expertise.

Assessment

Applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Value;
- Reach / Audience;
- Innovation;
- Originality;
- Outcomes;
- Chamber Membership.

Applications will be assessed and applicants notified of outcome before 5pm Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Assessment Panel to consist of three members of Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Tourism Management Committee

Acquittal Process:

1.  Provide proof of payment for services undertaken by e-commerce professional;
2. Provide link to e-commerce platform;
3. Complete report that outlines percentage increase or decrease in volume and value of transactions*, compared to previous quarter and same quarter in previous year, and breakdown of customers' locations, within four months of new or improved platform becoming operational;
4. Complete report following any event that causes disruption to normal trade within 12 months of grant finalisation e.g. cyclone, to indicate whether trading has been less impacted as result of e-commerce platform;
5. Complete questionnaire to indicate ease of operation, challenges, training or assistance that may be required following implementation of e-commerce platform.

PLEASE NOTE: Identifying details in Acquittal Reports will not be made public.

*Successful applicants will not be required to share actual number or value of transactions, merely an indication of any decrease or increase that has been experienced.
