We are pleased that you are interested in applying for the Akron Bar Association's Perantinides & Nolan Leadership Academy at the Akron Bar Association. Through the Academy, the Akron Bar seeks to identify emerging members who strive to develop as leaders in the practice of law and in their community. Once identified, these leaders will be assisted in improving their skills as a lawyer and as a community leader through the activities of the Perantinides & Nolan Leadership Academy program.
The Perantinides & Nolan Leadership Academy is for Akron Bar Association members who demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to community stewardship. Through a curriculum focused on self-discovery and personal growth, participants strengthen their leadership abilities and prepare to make a meaningful impact within the Akron and Summit County legal profession.
The Perantinides & Nolan Leadership Academy applicants are active members of the Akron Bar Association who are currently a practicing attorney or on the bench as a Magistrate or Judge. The Academy is scheduled to run from October 2026 through June 2027 with once monthly events that will promote the goals of the Academy. The Perantinides & Nolan Leadership Academy begins in October 2026 with monthly half-day sessions on weekdays.
The following is an example of the curriculum and special events being planned for this year's Leadership Academy.
The Academy will meet during the following months with specific dates and content to be determined by September 15.

February | Akron Bar Leadership Committees
March | Board Training
April | Day of Service
April | Akron Bar Foundation Gala
May | Government Day at Summit Count Board of Elections
June | Graduation at the Annual Meeting
If you are interested in being a part of the Perantinides and Nolan Leadership Academy, please complete and submit this application before September 11, 2026.
In conjunction with this online application, applicants must submit separately a resume and a cover letter indicating why you wish to participate, as well as detailing the three most important issues you believe are facing the legal profession/community and how you can address those issues through your participation. Once approved, selected members of the class will receive notification. Anticipated notification date will be by Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
(Those selected must be members of the Akron Bar Association or must join before starting the Academy)
