CLS Advisor Terms and Requirements Agreement

CLS Advisors are given access to an online portal where they can see the names and limited information of students who have started applications on their campus, as well as the status of these students’ applications throughout a given competition cycle. Because of the sensitive nature of the information provided through this portal, the CLS Program has several requirements of advisors before they may be issued credentials to access the system.

To be a CLS Advisor, you must meet the following requirements:
  • Must have a verified institutional affiliation;
  • Must be a full-time staff or faculty member who works with students;
  • Must be in a position to work with applicants across different degree programs applying for all language programs;
  • Must use an .EDU email address associated with their college or university (.EDU emails for shared inboxes will not be accepted);
  • Must agree to our data privacy policy; and
  • Must not be a current applicant for the CLS Program.

By completing this form and agreeing to act as a CLS Advisor on your campus, you attest to the following:
  • Information provided through the CLS Advisor portal is confidential and may not be shared with any outside party.
  • I will use the contact information available through the advisor portal sparingly. As there may be multiple staff or faculty at my institution who have access to that information, I will take care to collaborate with others on my campus when reaching out to applicants.
  • I will not use information from the CLS Advisor portal to spam applicants.  Not all applicants may wish to be contacted and I will respect their communication preferences in this regard.
  • Information gathered through the CLS Advisor portal will not be used to discourage applicants to the CLS Program, market services, or levy university fees on student activities.
  • The directory information provided above is correct and accurate at the time of this agreement.
