A 14-day period of public comment is provided for the Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Vermont Department of Health (VDH) to gather information about Howard Center (HC).
This is part of the process to decide whether or not the State of Vermont will renew the agency’s designation to deliver mental-health services to adults, children, adolescents and families in Chittenden County.
Additionally, this Public Comment Period helps DMH and VDH determine HC' readiness to become a Certified Community Based integrated Health Center (CCBHC). CCBHCs are designed to ensure access to coordinated mental health and substance use care and are required to serve anyone who requests care, regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence, or age.
