Overview

Voices of Hope helps people in recovery stay in recovery by providing no-cost recovery support services, conducting research, and educating and advocating for the community we serve. Our overarching goal is to enhance the quantity and quality of support available to people seeking and experiencing long-term recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction. Voices of Hope is a standalone entity, but we work closely with many organizations. Voices of Hope is a Kentucky non-profit with Federal 501(c)(3) status.

About the role

As the Director of Finance you would be managing multiple projects and tasks, as well as budgets and timelines. This role requires strong attention to details and understands the importance of delivering high-quality work meeting deadline expectations. Being a careful financial steward, you will need a solid understanding of accounting, as well as the unique needs of the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all general ledger and journal entries, establish protocols for recording transactions and review monthly entries for accuracy.
  • Oversee weekly banking reconciliation process and perform a monthly review of reconciliations prior to the distribution of monthly financial reports.
  • Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.
  • Monitor financial condition by reviewing financial reports and budget reports with the leadership team and reporting any concerns to the President/CEO.
  • Prepare bi-monthly financial statements and associated reports for distribution to the Board of Directors.
  • Protect assets by monitoring internal controls and communicating issues of concern to the President/CEO.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivables, general ledger and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • In conjunction with Employee Representation Committee, coordinate annual community philanthropic projects, Employee Appreciation Day events, and holiday/special event celebrations.
  • Support budget managers across all grants helping to translate business needs into budgets, and helping staff track and understand financial performance
