Learning objectives:
After participating in this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify and Review anesthetic options for procedural sedation (pharmacology, safety profile, cost).
2. Identify and Explain the features of a complex patient for procedural sedation (AW, comorbidities, IV access, anxiety, social habits).
3. Describe the management of common complications that arise during administration of procedural sedation (paradoxical agitation, lost IV, bronchospasm, obstruction, desaturation, inadequate depth of sedation, aspiration, decision to convert to GA).
