About the two awards:
Exemplary Leader Award
This award recognizes a nurse leader who significantly influenced professional nursing practice and the professional development of others. CONL believes every nurse has the potential to be a leader and inspire expert care. This award supports CONL’s mission by honoring an individual’s influence and impact on nursing practice, leadership and community.
Who can be nominated for this award?
Any clinical nurse in a nursing administrative/leadership position with over five years of experience or more as a nurse leader in a formal leadership position (e.g. administrative supervisor, professional development, manager, director, etc.). Current members of the CONL Board of Directors are not eligible to win this award.

Emerging Leader Award
This award recognizes an engaged nurse leader who exhibits significant potential as a future health care leader and demonstrates exemplary leadership within their organization, community and the nursing profession.
Who can be nominated for this award?
Any clinical nurse in a nursing administrative/leadership position with up to five years of experience or less as a nurse in a formal leadership position and demonstrated exemplary leadership within their organization, community and the nursing profession. Current members of the CONL Board of Directors are not eligible to win this award.
