Illinois Green Alliance Programs Committee Volunteer Application 2027

Illinois Green is currently seeking new volunteers to join the standing Programs Committee. Committee members will volunteer time and expertise to lead the selection, development and implementation of monthly education programs that advance our strategic plan.

Serving on the Programs Committee provides an opportunity to engage with leading thinkers on sustainable design and innovation, and drive the conversation in Illinois’ green building community. Programs Committee members work with staff to determine event topics and speakers that support our mission and initiatives.

Programs Committee members are applying to serve a one-year term beginning November 2026 and running through December 2027. Selected members will participate in monthly virtual or in-person meetings and should also expect to spend 2 - 5 hours per month between meeting times coordinating with committee members and program speakers. Programs Committee members are selected based on their past experience, time available to consistently contribute and ability to add to the diversity of professional backgrounds and expertise on the committee.

9.Illinois Green Programs Committee members commit to maintaining an active Illinois Green membership, attending 80% of the committee meetings and taking an active role in the work of the committee, which will involve time outside of committee meetings. Can you commit to these expectations?

Committee Selection Process:
Illinois Green staff will review applications and be in touch with any questions by the end of October. If selected, please save the date for the first committee meeting on the evening of November 3rd from 5:30-6:30.
