Doggone It! Cast your vote to choose the new Peoples Gas safe digging ambassadog

We asked Peoples Gas customers for photos of their dogs doing what they do best — digging! We narrowed the competition down to five finalists, but choosing one winner is a "ruff" task. So, we’d like your help!

Please vote below for the dog you think should star in our new safe digging campaign. You can vote through July 30. We’ll announce the winner — our new safe digging “ambassadog” — on Aug. 11.

Take a look at the photos below and — further down on the page — a bit of information about each dog. Then select the photo of your favorite finalist. After that, there is one question about digging safety to answer. Then select “Send” at the very bottom to send us your vote!

You are allowed to vote more than once.

CHICAGO
Chicago is an 8-year-old Shitzu/Poodle mix. His nickname is “Chi” or “Chi Chi." In addition to the big city, he’s spent a lot of time in Alaska, which helped make him adventurous, with love for the outdoors. Chicago has a big personality and a big bark to match. In addition to digging, he loves his toys and going on lots of walks. Chicago also is bilingual. He understands English and Spanish.

FREYA
A 4-year-old rescue dog, Freya is a husky/cattle dog mix. She loves burying and digging up bones. Her other favorite activities are doing windsprints in the yard, lounging in the sun, and getting belly scratches. She is gentle, silly, smart and a just little rambunctious.

HANK
Hank is a certified “super mutt,” whose dominant ancestry is chihuahua. His family adopted him from a shelter in Alabama. Hank is approximately 8 years old. His mom says he “is the coolest” and full of personality. Hank likes digging and swimming at the dog beach. Everywhere he goes, people stop to inquire about his unique look. He keeps his beauty routine a secret though.

JANICE
Janice is a 4-year-old bloodhound and a rescue pup. When not digging, she’s typically patrolling the perimeter of her family’s yard or melting into the couch for a snooze. If you ever visit her home, she’ll greet you with tons of love and ask you to play. Her other main traits are being droopy and gentle.

WOLF
Wolf is a Siberian husky who is 3 years old. He lives to sunbathe in the summer, nestle in the winter snow, and dig all year-round. Wolf is extremely friendly. So much so, his family says if burglars ever broke in, he’d help them clean out the house.
