Thank you for agreeing to run in the 2022 AAPB Board of Directors election! Your ‎candidacy was approved by the Board of Directors. Please review, complete ‎and return this form to mcunningham@kellencompany.com by January 31, 2022, ‎along with your photo, CV, brief bio sketch and philosophy statement will be ‎included with the ballot.‎

Each candidate should read and agree to serve according to the terms of this agreement.

Candidates for President-elect shall not hold another elected office during the President-elect term.
 
A statement for publication and distribution to members with the ballot shall be prepared by each candidate for office. Two questions should be addressed:

Biographical Information (qualifications)
Statement of philosophy regarding AAPB, future direction (programs and plans) and why you want to serve on the Board.
 
Biographical/Philosophy statements and agreement to serve must be received by January 31, 2022 to be included with the ballots.
 
Written endorsements, i.e., campaign letters in support of a candidate are not acceptable. “Campaigning” is strictly limited to the candidates communicating their position and qualifications via the letter accompanying the official ballot. AAPB will not provide mailing lists or labels to candidates for campaign purposes. All interpretations of the definition of campaigning reside with the Nominations Committee.
 
In 2022, the AAPB membership will elect one President-Elect, one Treasurer and two at-Large Board of Directors positions.

Position Descriptions

The AAPB Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the following positions for the 2022-23 board:
 
President-Elect (3-year term/March 2022-April 2024):
The President-Elect shall be a member of the Association who is elected by the membership. He/she shall take office as President-Elect at the close of the annual meeting at which his/her election results are announced. He/she shall serve as presiding officer of the Association in the absence of the President. The President-Elect shall become familiar with the presidential duties and shall perform such duties as are delegated by the President and/or Board of Directors. The President-Elect shall act in the President's absence or disability. The President-Elect shall help formulate Association policy, and shall assist the President, upon request. The President-Elect automatically succeeds to the office of President. If the office of President becomes vacant, the President-Elect shall serve as President for the unexpired term and shall serve as President for the term to which he/she was elected. If the President-Elect shall not be able to serve, a President-Elect shall be nominated by the nominating committee and a special election held. The new President-Elect will take office immediately.

Treasurer (3-year term March 2022- April 2024):
The Treasurer shall be a member of the Association and shall be elected by the membership. The Treasurer shall deliver an annual financial report that has been reviewed by an independent CPA for each fiscal year to the Board. The Treasurer shall be Chairman of the Association's Finance Committee and serve on the Executive Committee. 

2 OPEN POSITIONS! At-Large Board Member Position (3-year term/March 2022 – April 2024):
The at-Large Director shall be any Regular member of the Association in good standing who is elected by the membership. Responsibilities include participation in regularly scheduled Board meetings and/or conference calls and serving as a Board liaison to an AAPB committee, one or more of the AAPB membership sections or divisions and to a state or regional chapter.
