Welcome to Identity Magazine’s Get All A’s in the Game of Life: Insights Along the Way - Mother's Edition Submissions Page!! We hope that you’re as excited as we are to participate in the creation of a very special book of quotes!

While you are on the amazing and sometimes overwhelming Mother's journey, here you have the opportunity to support other Moms—because support is uplifting. By publishing this edition in the Get All A’s in the Game of Life quote book series, we hope to provide an easily accessible resource that will benefit other women: pearls of wisdom, insights, and hope from other Moms showing up and doing their best.

Let’s get right to the details:

Who can submit: ALL MOMS: moms-to-be, birth moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, stepmoms

Edits: Be sure to submit EXACTLY as you want it.  If we need to make edits, our editing team will edit and we will send you an email with the change.

What we are looking for: an original quote—-contemplations, reflections, and words spoken or written only by you. By that, we mean YOUR OWN words that describe your personal experiences—what you have learned, discovered, how you overcame obstacles, Mom-related anecdotes, and even humorous messages you’d like to share women who are currently Moms or moms-to-be.

What we are NOT looking for: a favorite quote spoken or written by another individual, famous or otherwise. These must be your words.

You may create and submit 1-3 quotes. Your message (s) / quote(s) should be relevant to one of this book’s 3 chapters. So you may submit a quote per chapter if you’d like. (Or you can choose to submit 2-3 quotes for just one chapter, as long as the total number of quotes does not exceed 3). These chapters will be titled:

Accept.
Appreciate.
Achieve
.

Together the A's represent Identity’s Mission for all women to “Discover their Powers of Self-Acceptance, Appreciation, and Personal Achievement."

Below are examples of the types of quotes we have in mind:

ACCEPT: "It was a challenge to accept that so much was going to change when I became a mom of twins.  I was so focused on proving that I wasn't going to have to slow down when it came to running my business as a new mom and keeping my house clean and organized. I soon discovered that I wanted to slow down so that I could embrace the change and the journey. It allowed me to appreciate the growth and the next chapter more. I learned to let go of some of my OCD tendencies and simplify my business. So remember it is okay to slow down and soak in the change of pace at times." —Susan Vernicek, Mom of Twins

APPRECIATE: “If you're breastfeeding, appreciate that experience. It was extremely difficult for me to feed twins at the same time. I succeeded but then forced to stop at 8 weeks due to developing Bells Balsy. It's an experience to be grateful for” – Susan Vernicek, Mom of Twins

ACHIEVE: “Please, please, please reflect as your head hits the pillow.  You accomplish so much Mom. Every single day.  So recap your day on all that you achieved from say YES to waking up, nurturing your children, providing for them in every way you could.  Y

* 2. Acceptance Chapter: When the going gets tough—or even when it doesn’t--know that in order to thrive in any situation, you must begin each day of your journey accepting yourself and your circumstances at the moment.

Awareness and acceptance are pivotal when it comes to motherhood. As many have attested, one must love (=accept) oneself, in order to genuinely love another. And to be frank, many Moms struggle with self-love and self-care. With so many emotions and duties to manage, we usually take ourselves off the priority life first and we've got the change that pattern.

What quotes can you share that touch upon any of these concepts that will uplift the spirits and efforts of another Mom?

APPRECIATE  CHAPTER: Oh, there’s so much to be said about the power, the growth, and the cultivation of gratitude that applies directly to a Motherhood. Each of us must develop an earnest appreciation for all that comprises our inner and outer lives—in every stage of Motherhood.

We must purposely place our attention on what we appreciate in and of ourselves, IN ADDITION, to all of the wonderful moments motherhood can bring about. Once we cultivate gratitude, we can genuinely celebrate this journey.

Thankfulness is one of the most significant ‘gifts’ we can bring into our lives and ignite into our children, not to mention the birth itself! Appreciation is born from reflections on our feelings, observations, and experiences. You must ‘look’ at your own thoughts every single day. Appreciation is the glue to thriving (and at times surviving) life and motherhood.

What quotes can you share about appreciation and gratitude that have the power to ignite appreciation in Moms who may not quite have arrived there?

ACHIEVE CHAPTER: Sure, we don’t usually give ourselves as much credit as we deserve as Moms. Let’s discuss a few aspects of that which we refer to as an ‘achievement.’ First, we at Identity Magazine and creator Susan Vernicek feel that any advancement or showing up and progress is an achievement-worthy celebration. Saying YES to each day, making meals for your children, brushing their teeth, reading to them, or snuggling them so they feel safe and loved. It's also enthusiasm, commitment, and consistency that make seemingly small accomplishments go a long way in both tangible and intangible ways. We can get so wrapped up in the day-to-day of raising children, with all the other tasks at hand, that we tend to think we didn't accomplish anything or we didn't acknowledge our efforts and success.

What quotes, stories or words of wisdom come to mind when you reflect upon your ‘achievements’ as a mother? Lessons that can benefit and guide other moms as they birth their own paths?
