CARS 2.2 Bulk File Enhancements

This survey is designed to obtain agency feedback in regards to upcoming enhancements to the CARS application. Your response to this questionnaire is essential to helping us determine the impact the enhancements may have on your agency. Individuals that are familiar with your agency’s CARS bulk reclass file should complete the following survey.

One of the changes that CARS is making is to accept the first 25 characters of field #19 on the bulk reclass file (last 245 characters at the end of the bulk file).   Currently agencies can enter up to 245 characters free form for their documentation but the data does not appear in CARS.

In a future release, CARS would allow the first 25 out of 245 characters populated by the agency to be displayed in the new ‘reference’ field in CARS.  The agencies can still store additional notes but any information after the 25th character will not be displayed in CARS.  Note: Proposed changes affect TDO Component Bulk File. TDO String TAS Bulk File will not be affected.

Once we review the responses we will then provide feedback.
