AU is a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program
Thank you for your service

Please read all the information before beginning your application

Who should apply?

Newly admitted AU students who meet the eligibility requirements

Current Yellow Ribbon Program recipients need not reapply UNLESS you're changing your degree program (BA/BS to MA/MS, etc)

You do not need to apply for Yellow Ribbon each semester

What are the eligibility requirements?

1. Be an admitted degree-seeking student. Prospective students will not be considered
2. Be 100% eligible for the CH. 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill
3. Either be a Veteran or dependent who has been transferred benefits
4. Not currently serving on Active Duty or on terminal leave, or be a spouse* of an Active Duty service member
5. Adhere to all university guidelines and be in good academic standing
6. Be fully eligible at the time of application
7. For students enrolled in a non-degree certificate program, please contact Veteran Services before applying. Generally, students enrolled in non-degree certificate programs are ineligible to receive Yellow Ribbon

*Spouses of Active Duty should review Question #7 in further detail to see if they still potentially qualify

Additional Requirements

AU restricted scholarship/AU institutional money (Tuition Remission, Merit Scholarship, etc.) cannot be used in conjunction with Yellow Ribbon
  • If you're receiving/been awarded other AU institution money (Merit Scholarship, Tuition Remission, Deans Scholarship, etc.) you must first relinquish it by contacting your academic adviser/department POC before you can receive Yellow Ribbon
  • Yellow Ribbon supersedes all other institution money
