The Kronenwetter Utility Committee and Village Board are addressing two issues regarding the Village water supply. Some customers experience colored water and/or material accumulations in or on plumbing fixtures. These issues are because of higher iron and manganese concentrations in one of the two utility wells. In addition, the Village is approaching a need for additional water supply volume. The Utility Committee has completed some future well site searches, including test wells and test pumping. However, a new high capacity well site, that does not need any water treatment, has not been found in the area.

At this point in time, there appears to be several courses of action.
1) Do nothing until the water quality and supply capacity needs are critical.
2) Purchase water from Rothschild for an extended period of time, relying on them for additional supply capacity and storage volume.
3) Purchase water from Rothschild on a short-term basis, while developing additional water wells, water treatment, and storage facilities in Kronenwetter.
4) Immediately develop additional water wells, water treatment, and storage facilities for Kronenwetter independent of others.
