Hi folks! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your horrible boss stories. In the interest of keeping this survey brief, I'm asking you to answer the questions based on your experience with just ONE boss. It's possible that you've had MORE than one horrible boss in your life, and if that's the case, I'm truly sorry. Still, you're going to have to answer the questions about just one of them. If you'd like to add any insights or stories from other bosses past or present, you can do so at the end of the survey.

I promise to keep your tales anonymous, so even if you do use names in your answers, I'll definitely change them before I do anything so bold as to share any stories on my blog or elsewhere. You don't even have to give me your name.

* 1. Are you male or female, and what age were you when you had your bad boss experience?

* 2. Was your bad boss male or female, and about how old was s/he?

* 3. What didn't you like about your boss? What specific personality traits, qualities or behaviors did you find challenging?

* 4. Did you like your boss as a person? Were you generally friendly with each other outside of work?

* 5. When did you realize that you had a problem with your boss? Was there a particular moment when things turned really sour, or was it a gradual build up over time?

* 6. If you were stressed out by your work situation, how did your stress manifest itself (physically or mentally)?

* 7. What strategies did you attempt to try to make the situation better, both inside and outside of work?

Also (very important): Did they work? If so, how?

* 8. Are you still working for the same boss today?

* 9. Looking back, how could you have handled the situation more effectively? Please share any wisdom you've gained during and since this experience.

* 10. Please use this space to share anything else you'd like to. It could be another experience with a different boss, additional insight into why bosses can be so bad, when a boss is so bad you know it's time to get out of the situation, or whatever else you'd like to say.

Finally, if you'd be willing to answer a follow-up question or two, please write your name and a way to contact you (phone or email are best) here. Again, I promise to keep all responses anonymous!
