* 14. Essay Question: EdAdvance is the Regional Educational Service Center (RESC) for western Connecticut. It was founded on a mission of service to our member districts, schools and their communities. EdAdvance provides a wide range of programs and services for people of all ages, including Adult Education, Birth-to-Three, Community Services, Early Childhood and Family Programs, Food Services, Head Start, Professional Development, Program Research and Evaluation, School Age Programs, Special Education, Student Programs, Technology, Transportation, and 21st Century Skills. In your essay, describe an instance when you used your time and talents to serve your own school or community as a volunteer or leader. What motivated you to serve, what did you do, and how has that service and leadership experience shaped you and your plans for the future? Effective responses will make a connection between what you did and the positive impact you feel it had on people or institutions in your community. Essays are scored for Clarity, Example of Talent, Motivation, Future Plans, Proper Grammar, and Written Form. Please answer the essay question fully, with appropriate detail. We suggest you construct your essay in Word format, save, then copy and paste into this application form.  Remember to check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Your essay should be approximately 500 words, but cannot exceed 500 words.
