Yes, this is Dave's actual touring guitar! Dave has played over 700 shows globally with it. You’ll also get a 30mins zoom hang out with Dave to talk about the guitar and some stories behind it.

A Note From Dave:

"It’s time for one of you to own my Gibson J45. Over the last 14 years, this guitar has been around the world more than a dozen times and has been played on hundreds of shows and lots of recordings. I love it, but I have decided that it’s time for one of you to own it.

The last gig I’ll be using it on is the Opera House steps gig on the 14th of December. After that, it’ll belong to one of you."

How to Enter:

Purchase: Buy Boy & Bear’s new album Tripping Over Time from Boy & Bear's Australian web-store in any format (Vinyl, CD, Digital Download, or Digital Download as part of a merch bundle).

Register: Click on the Competition link, complete the form and submit the order number and other details requested in the form below before the end of the promotion period.

Pre-orders: If you have already pre-ordered the album prior to the competition start date, you are eligible to enter by completing the competition entry form and submitting your existing order number below.

Consent: By providing details requested below and entering the Promotion, entrants consent to receiving marketing and promotional messages from the Promoter. Entrants will require an active email account.</

Entry Limits (Multiple Entries Allowed):

Multiple entries are permitted.
Each distinct order that includes an album in the purchase in any format (Vinyl, CD, Digital Download) equals the ability for one (1) entry, provided you also complete the competition entry form.
Entrants must complete the competition entry form separately for each separate order/receipt number to count as a new entry.

Draw Details:

Promotion is a game of chance.
One (1) random draw by the Promoter will take place at the end of the Promotion Period.

Prize Details:

The prize consists of one (1) specific musical instrument owned by Dave Hosking:

1 x Gibson J45 Acoustic Guitar (Owned and played by Dave Hosking).
History: This guitar has been toured globally for 14 years and featured on multiple Boy & Bear recordings.
Condition: The prize is a used, touring instrument and is awarded in "as is" condition, featuring natural wear and tear consistent with professional touring usage.
Delivery: Shipping/Courier costs within Australia to the winner's address are covered by the Promoter.

Prize Value:

Estimated value: Approximately $3,000 AUD (Value based on market price for make/model, plus provenance).
The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.

Winner Notification:

The winner will be notified by email on Friday, Dec 19th, 2025 at 4:00 pm AEDT (Shorty after the draw).

Prize Claim Date and Time:

Prizes must be claimed by 12:00 pm AEDT on Monday, 22nd Dec 2025.

Unclaimed Prize Draw Date:

If the winner does not claim their prize by 12:00 pm AEDT on Monday, 22nd Dec 2025, a new winner will be redrawn and notified at 2:00 pm AEDT on Monday, 22nd Dec 2025.
