Davis General Plan Online Questionnaire #3

Davis is evolving, and we would like your help to guide that change. After more than 20 years, the City of Davis is updating our community's blueprint—the General Plan—that will shape Davis for the next generation.

At this phase of the three-year process, we are seeking input on the draft revised Land Use Map and Mobility Map through various meetings, workshops and this questionnaire. Answering these questions and encouraging your family, colleagues, friends and neighbors to do the same is critical to ensuring everyone’s needs and wants for Davis’ future are considered in the process! The City needs your feedback on the draft maps to create a shared vision for how Davis can meet future housing, jobs and transportation needs.

Land use describes how people use land from parks to housing to retail and more. Mobility refers to how we get around from place to place from roads and buses to sidewalks and bicycles in a manner that responds to everyone’s needs, abilities and preferences.

The draft revised Land Use Map illustrates the distribution of land uses on each parcel of land in the city and shows the vision for how an area may evolve over time. It includes a description of allowed uses and density and intensity for each parcel and is a key tool for housing and economic development. The Draft General Plan Mobility Map depicts proposed updates to the city’s street and bike networks in the future. The General Plan Land Use and Mobility Maps complement one another.

These maps are based on community input on different land use options to achieve the community’s vision over the next 25 years. This includes input from Workshop #2, online questionnaire #2, and over 10 meetings with public commissions and committees, public agencies and local organizations held between April and September 2026.

Results from this questionnaire will be reviewed along with feedback from in-person and virtual workshops and commission meetings happening in Fall 2026. A further refined series of maps will go before City Council for review in 2027.
