OUR Community Action Plan for Grantown on Spey: looking to 2030

Grantown’s community organisations – the Community Council, Grantown Initiative, Grantown Society, YM Community Centre, Anagach Woods Trust, Grantown Museum, Primary & Grammar Parent Council, Grantown Business Association and Inverallan Church are looking to bring our community together again, to review Grantown’s Community Action Plan in 2025 and need your help to do this.

It’s really important that all members of our community have a real voice in shaping the future of the place we call home. So we hope you will join in the conversations over the next few months.

When we work together on ideas that benefit our residents, everybody wins.

Recent community successes in Grantown include:

1. YM Community Centre cinema

2. Town signage & information posts

3. Establishing the Hub

4. Anagach Woods volunteer programme & bike skills area

5. Square improvements: new trees & benches

6. Solar panels for Inverallan

7. Reopening Burnfield Toilets

8. Festive lights display

9. Dulaig play park

10. Community storage unit

11. Events: Greentown Show, Hogmanay, Strathfest, Truckfest etc

12. Museum exhibitions

To build on all these successes, you are encouraged to take part in this community action plan review in early 2025. The more voices that contribute, the easier it will be for the community to access funding and influence changes, to make more positive things happen.

In this time of global change, we want to look forward to where our community might be by 2030. So we are asking you to think about what we might achieve together and what suggestions can help our community develop a more sustainable future. We will ask Grantown’s young people separately, but families are encouraged to discuss the plan together.

This plan is about community action, and needs to be driven by members of our community. With the support of our local organisations, we are asking YOU to get involved so we can all make this work. Thank you!

At these drop in events, all the responses will be displayed to give everyone the opportunity to:
- see what's been said
- help refine and agree the priorities to take forward

- have a chat with representatives from our community organisations over a cuppa
- have your say in how our community projects can be developed.
