Aim of Study
The purpose of this study is for Carcross/Tagish First Nation to review the licensed early learning/childcare needs within their community. The objective of the review is to identify gaps in service and outline community needs. We will also look at some of our challenges in running licensed childcare in rural Yukon and how we can support growth in our areas of challenge. Our goal is to build on our strengths and create an action plan to fill any gaps and support our community requires to address early learning/childcare needs.

This survey was funded through a bilateral agreement signed by the Government of Yukon to support and enhance early learning and childcare programs in the Yukon. The action plan we collectively create will be provided to Health and Social Services Yukon to be reviewed for future funding allocation.

We are reviewing services for licensed early learning/childcare. Early learning is defined as birth to 12 years old. Currently the only licensed early learning/childcare within Carcross/Tagish is Haa Yatx’i Hidi (Early Learning Childcare Center).
