Hello musical food-lovers!

For more than a decade the UBC Farm has been hosting a Saturday Market on our beautiful 60-acre certified organic farm site in Vancouver's Point Grey neighbourhood. The city's only farmer's market on a working farm, our markets bring an average of 500-800 people each Saturday to support the local food economy by purchasing produce from the UBC Farm as well as baked goods, prepared food, hot meals, sweet treats, and beverages from market vendors.

Buskers are a big part of what brings community members to the farm, helping to create an atmosphere to relax, breathe in the fresh air, and walk the farm while listening (and sometimes dancing!) to music from local performers. We are now open for applications to busk at our 2018 Saturday Markets! The market offers buskers a place to perform in a beautiful setting, watching eagles soar overhead and families picnic on the grass while they get the chance to meet and engage with the local community, growers, and vendors.

Market details: our 2018 market will run every Saturday 10:00AM-2:00PM, June 2-October 27 at the UBC Farm, 3461 Ross Drive (accessible by transit, bike, foot, and car). We have two time slots per market available for buskers: 9:45-11:45AM and 12:00-2:00PM. We are looking for buskers who are a good fit for our market, so if you are interested in joining us, please fill out this survey to help us get a sense of who you are, what your sound is like, and when you are available. We encourage you to fill out all of the times you are available throughout the season to streamline the scheduling process.

What we can offer you: as a token of our appreciation we provide buskers with a $20 gift certificate to spend at the market for each day they play, as well as access to seasonal culled produce. Anything you earn through busking is of course yours to keep. We provide a 10x10 pop-up tent for shade and rain protection located in the centre of the market as well as seating and electrical hook-up if necessary. We are looking to have a full schedule of buskers for the entire 22 weeks of the market, so please pass this survey link along to any of your friends who might be interested in playing.

Thank you for your interest in being a part of the UBC Farm Saturday Market experience! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to the Marker Manager Hannah Lewis at ubcfarm.market@ubc.ca or 604-822-5092.
