Thank you for your interest in becoming an Arthritis Assist Peer-Mentor!

Peer-Mentors help us support Queenslanders living with arthritis by providing one-on-one support and information to individuals living with arthritis via our telephone support network, Arthritis Assist. Find the Position Description on our website. 

Commitment: Peer-Mentors should be able to commit to the program for a minimum of 1 year. The weekly time commitment is variable, depending on the Peer-Mentor's availability, and agreed workload. Peer-Mentors are trained, supported and supplied with all necessary information and resources.

If you love talking to people, and are passionate about helping others with arthritis, we'd love to hear from you!

We are looking for volunteers with a lived experience of arthritis who:
  • Are motivated to help other Queenslanders living with Arthritis
  • Can communicate with empathy and sensitivity to the needs of others, and are respectful of individual differences
  • Can work within the boundaries of the role
  • Are able to commit to ongoing training and education requirements
  • Are in a physical and emotional space where they can manage the commitment of being a Peer-Mentor
  • Have no intention to promote or sell any personal agenda, business, venture or product when representing Arthritis Queensland
  • Align with Arthritis Queensland’s core vision, mission and positions on key issues (these will be covered in training).
