During extreme weather events including periods of high temperatures and strong winds, Pacific Gas & Electric may pre-emptively shut down portions of the electricity grid in order to prevent catastrophic fires. To help communicate risk to vulnerable community members who may be most severely impacted by extended power outages, the County is seeking additional information about the location and circumstances of residents needing medical and mobility assistance so that we may better prepare them prior to events.
