OBSIP Cascadia Data User Survey

OBSIP Cascadia Data User Survey

The Ocean Bottom Seismograph Instrument Pool deployed the Amphibious Array as a part of the Cascadia Initiative from 2011 through 2015. We are interested in collecting user experiences with our instrumentation and the resulting data in an effort to ensure that issues are identified and addressed for future experiments and to guide future fleet investments or improvements.

Please take a few moments to provide feedback on your experience using data generated from these instruments to help us improve our fleet and facility in the future.
.Are you using the seismic data collected during the Cascade Initiative?
.Are you using differential pressure gauge (DPG) data?
.Are you using absolute pressure gauge (APG) data?
.Are you using strong motion data?
.Do you use horizontal component seismic data?
.Are you using temperature gauge data data?
.Have you identified any significant differences in the performance of shallow water vs. deep water instruments?
.Did you detect seasonal difference in the performance of the instruments?
.Please describe any specific benefits of the focused array your research employed.  The focused arrays were the densely-spaced stations deployed in North Cascadia for Year 1 and Year 3, and South Cascadia at the Mendocino Triple Junction for Year 2 and Year 4.
.Have you identified any specific performance characteristics of any particular models of instrument?
.Did your research use land instruments?
.Was the level of timing accuracy provided by OBSIP instrumentation sufficient for your research?
.Did timing errors affect your research of Cascadia Initiative data?
.Were instrument calibrations correct?
.Did you encounter any issues with OBS station metadata?
.What aspects of the Amphibious Array OBS instruments would you keep the same?
.What aspects of the Amphibious Array OBS instruments would you change?
.In your opinion, what is the most compelling research result from the Cascadia Initiative?  Please feel free to cite papers/authors.
.If you are interested in discussing your experience with Amphibious Array instrumentation deployed in Cascadia and would like to participate in a focus group aimed at making improvements to that instrumentation, please provide your contact information:
