Fundraising. This committee provides guidance to and participation in fundraising and member recruitment efforts to support the work and goals of The Cannabis Alliance.

Events/Conference Steering Committee. The Conference Steering Committee for each year's conference is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting the annual Cannabis Summit. This includes organizing technical sessions, training, tours, award ceremonies, exhibit space, and networking opportunities, in order to put on a conference that is relevant, informative, and engaging to THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE members and other professionals.

The events committee helps identify, support and coordinate events in which The Cannabis Alliance should be involved. Including, but not limited to, finding proper venues, identifying event needs such as food, A/V, etc and helping with ticketing. The Events committee will work in tandem with the Volunteer committee to help with staffing, set-up and break down of any events.

Communications. Duties of this committee are:
1. Compilation of bi-monthly newsletter to be distributed electronically.
2. Maintenance of THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE website and social media.
3. To maintain and keep-up to-date a list of contacts of media in relevant, related fields.
4. To distribute press releases to the media on appropriate THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE activities.
5. To perform such other communication functions as the President, Board of Directors, or Administrator shall deem necessary or useful over the course of the year.

Regulatory (Rules). Similar to the Policy Committee, Regulatory Committee members assist in defining The Cannabis Alliance’s regulatory priorities and help create and organize messaging around our top regulatory issues. Committee duties will include staying on top of rules, emergency rules and different regulatory agencies such as the LCB, DOH, WSDA, Clean Air agencies and other state and local agencies as needed. Duties may also include researching rules, preparing commentary, help drafting response letters and (if comfortable) testify at hearings on behalf of The Cannabis Alliance.

Policy (Laws). The Policy Committee acts as THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE's "watchdog" for emerging national issues, policies, legislation and regulations that may impact THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE members and their programs. The committee works to promote responsible policy changes by elected and agency officials, and to defeat actions that counter THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE's mission. Policy Committee members represent THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE in stakeholder processes and working groups commissioned by the U.S. Government and other relevant organizations. Committee members are responsible for developing policy language and guidance documents related to THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE's mission and for sharing this information with THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE members. The committee is also responsible for activating the THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE membership to engage in emerging issues that affect the organization's goals.

Policy Committee members help define The Cannabis Alliance’s policy decisions and legislative priorities and help create and organize messaging around our top legislative issues. Committee duties may include helping to prepare for legislative sessions, conducting legislative bill research, preparing commentary, help drafting bills and (if comfortable) testify at legislative sessions on behalf of The Cannabis Alliance. Additional duties may include helping to create a voter’s guide and organizing a lobby day, in conjunction with the volunteer and events committee.

Strategic Planning. The Strategic Planning Committee guides the growth and overall success of THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE by creating, implementing, and evaluation a strategic plan for the organization. Goals of this committee are:
1. Obtain and incorporate membership comments, suggestions, and feedback into the THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE strategic plan
2. Update the organization’s strategic plan to meet the changing needs of the membership
3. Support the organization in the implementation of the strategic plan

Finance. The Finance Committee is dedicated to ensuring the financial health of the Association for the benefit of the Organization, its Members and the Environment. Goals of this committee are:
1. The Finance Committee will set and commit to meeting an annual budget for the organization
2. The Finance Committee will maximize investment earnings
3. Financial records will be kept current and accurate and made readily available to the Board of Directors
4. Revenue opportunities will be actively investigated and pursued
5. The Finance Committee will ensure adherence to all contractual requirements of the organization

Operations. The Operations Committee negotiates and manages the organization’s contracts, such as the contract with THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE’s administrator, as well as other contractors as needed.This committee must be chaired by an Executive Committee member. For specific tasks, such as recruiting and evaluating new contractors, non-board members may be recruited.

Membership. The Membership Committee focuses on maintaining the membership and growing the organization by:
1.    Overseeing membership recruitment efforts for the organization
2.    Reviewing membership services and benefits
3.    Offering opportunities for members to become actively involved in the organization
4.    Maintaining membership roster

Training/Education. The Training Committee works to provide high quality, relevant, affordable training to THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE members and other professional partners. The training committee identifies needed training sessions and other training opportunities. The committee ensures high-quality trainers are secured. Additional training needs for THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE members are identified by the committee and, where practical, supported with approval from THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE Board. The Training Committee recommends registration fees for training sessions to ensure they are affordable while providing a source of revenue to THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE.

This committee helps create programs that educate, inform, and stimulate membership professional development – making The Cannabis Alliance the primary learning and knowledge source for Cannabis professionals.

Sponsorship. The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for establishing a sponsorship program for defining the levels of sponsorship associated with the amount of donations; and developing, approaching, and getting both sustaining sponsors and special project sponsors. The goal of the committee is to enhance the promotion of THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE through obtaining sponsorship's that provide a sustainable funding mechanism to support annual operational expenses and special events. The committee strives to attract new sponsors and preserve existing sponsors. THE CANNABIS ALLIANCE sponsors are honored at the annual meeting and are promoted to the membership through newsletter and conference program advertisements, website links, exhibit booths, presentation opportunities, and introductions at the annual conference.

Affilliations. The Affiliations Committee works to identify and foster partnerships with progressive organizations (primarily, although not exclusively, within North America) that benefit and advance our profession and mutual goals.

Ethics and Standards. Conflict management, ethics classes. Create and implement an ethics and standards structure that our members adhere too, as well as a structure to handle complaints and those that don’t meet said standards.

Volunteer. This committee supports The Cannabis Alliance with a variety of volunteer tasks and projects all over our state. Tasks can be as simple as helping us load/unload vehicles, event setup, checking attendees in at the registration table, or help staffing The Cannabis Alliance Booth at large events like CannaCon, Imperious Expo, etc.
