Goal: The better determine green/natural burial options, education, interest amongst city of Durham residents. Green or natural burials is the interment of the body without interference from chemicals or products not conducive to a natural decomposition process.
Conservation space is a green burial space with conservation easements placed upon them protecting the natural flora and fauna of the land. The goal in conservation sites is to visit the land and honor the natural ebb and flow of nature, with minimal emphasis on the gravesite individually, but part of a nature ecosystem allowing for connection with the loved one through visiting the ecosystem itself.
Blended funerals combine conventional funeral practices with home funeral and/or green burial practices; may include the use of a funeral director for certain aspects of care, such as obtaining, completing and filing paperwork or transporting the body. Blended funerals offer families more options, especially when certain options are not available in their area.
