The Community Investment Plan project was initiated in 2008 by Gary Folden, who was at the time president of the Jefferson County Chamber Of Commerce.   That year, Gary assembled an Advisory Group of key stakeholders from across Jefferson County.  The purpose of the group was to strengthen Jefferson County by creating collaborative partnerships, to identify needed resources, and to develop and communicate strategies for improvement and growth that would benefit all sectors of the county, including education, government and private and non-profit sectors.  After many months of research and monthly meetings, the end result was a comprehensive plan that outlined the goals in various areas that would positively affect the quality of life for Jefferson County residents.

In 2014, the Implementation Team developed an Executive Summary that provided a report of the progress that had been made since 2008.  And then, in 2015, the Advisory Group reconvened, with many of its original members, to begin the process of updating the plan once again. This group has been meeting on a regular basis over the past 18 months and now, in order to move forward with updating the plan, it needs your input to help ensure that the revised version remains relevant and current.  A copy of the 2014 Community Investment Plan Executive Summary is available by contacting the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce at 740.282.6226 or via email at tmaple@jeffersoncountychamber.com.

It is encouraging to see the progress that has been made in many areas but there is still much work to be done.  With your input on the following survey, Phase II of this partnership for growth will be developed and the plan will once again be used to initiate, continue, direct, encourage and monitor progress in Jefferson County.    Thank you in advance for your input on this important project.
