INTO WORK: The challenges facing architecture’s next generation in 2026

Introducing the AJ's Into Work survey. We want to hear about the real-life challenges facing architecture students and early career architects as they begin their professional careers in the UK today.

The poll includes questions about the cost and usefulness of architectural education as well as the barriers to entry into the workplace.

Your answers are totally anonymous, so please be as honest as possible.

Although in some cases you will be asked to elaborate on these answers, the survey should take you no longer than 15 minutes to complete.

The information you provide will help to inform articles and research for the AJ both in print and online this summer.

This survey is ONLY to be completed by students, apprentices and newly qualified architects.

Thank you for taking part.
