GEM Museum Visit Bursary Scheme The Group for Education in Museums (Cymru) Museum Visit Bursary scheme, funded by the Welsh Government’s culture division, offers grants up to £1,000 to help state-maintained schools in Wales take their students to an accredited museum in their area. The purpose of the scheme is to ensure cultural heritage in Wales is accessible to all school children and to remove barriers to museum engagement. Local museums in Wales offer excellent curriculum relevant opportunities for students to engage with humanities, science & technology, art and health & wellbeing through interactive activities and exhibitions. However, we acknowledge that financial constraints can hinder participation. This scheme will enable teachers to take their students out of school to experience the benefits of physically visiting their local museum and the associated value of learning outside the classroom. Please check the list of eligible museums to avoid rejection.
