CHPA 2019 Speaker Suggestions

Potential Speakers

The 2019 Annual Conference will feature discussions and insights on the following topics. Conference leaders strive to provide a speaker lineup that offers diverse thought leadership from companies of different sizes and geographic scope. We need your suggestions on industry experts, speakers and thought leaders on these topics.  The Program Task Force will vet all speaker suggestions and will reach out directly to those individuals whose experience and/or perspective best fit with these topics.
Please add your ideas here (including company name, URL, email or Twitter handle if you have it).

2.Future of Work - Both corporations and the way we work will change in the future.  Advances in artificial intelligence, data science and IoT (the Internet of Things) mean that the number of people needed to do traditional tasks will drop.  This will mean that more will be done with less people AND also that people will be even more important.  Additionally, these technologies will dramatically increase the intelligence used to take care of properties, outfit units and market to customers.  Who do you know that's already incorporating AI or data science into their company's operations?

4.Future of Technology - The corporate housing industry has generally been a people business with little automation.  Technology, however, is changing how the industry is connecting and interacting with customers.  Today's expectations are instant connectivity and choice.  These changes outside the industry in places like retail and travel will change client and guest expectations. Digitization is also coming to the industry (think instant bookings and online management).  Who are the thought leaders you know that are doing things differently to prepare and incorporate technology well?

6.Future of the Internet of Things - The Internet of Things is making its way into our lives.  From smart speakers to smart appliances, intelligence and communication is expanding.  Beyond home use, companies are now implementing the industrial Internet of Things.  These industrial grade solutions in industries like manufacturing and energy give us a pragmatic vision for how these devices can be used to do real-time monitoring and even predictive maintenance.  When paired with artificial intelligence and other autonomous systems they could dramatically change how the industry manages properties and operates their companies. Who do you know that is already implementing the IofT?

8.Future Clients, Employees, etc. - How will the rise of the millennial generations over the next ten years require you to change how and with whom you do business?  In 10 years, millennials will make of 75% of the global workforce.  How will millennials want to work in the future? They, and future generations, expect tech and connectivity, including personalization in all areas.  They also value giving back to the community more than advancement at work. Whom do you know is doing things differently to attract younger generations to their company as clients or employees?

10.Future of Corporations - Falling transactional costs and the digitization of everything has and will change the future of corporations.  Additionally, “digital companies” (e.g. Amazon, Facebook, Google) are moving into more traditional economic areas.  For example, in 2017, Amazon bought the grocery store Whole Foods.  How will these companies that are comfortable with technology change not only what a business looks like but how business gets done?  As corporations change so too will the culture of their workers. What corporate clients with whom you work would be willing to share their perspectives and experiences?
