We're excited you're here!

You're one step closer to becoming a Youth Leadership Lawrence Class of 2023-2024 Member!

Youth Leadership is open to public and home school juniors and seniors in Lawrence County. Throughout the program, students enhance their skills in leadership, professionalism, communication, and team building. In addition, participants learn about history, culture, business, and economic development while getting to know other students and business leaders throughout the community. Participants build relationships and truly become a team with a common vision. Not only does it enhance cooperation among schools, but it also develops a greater sense of community pride.

Students selected for the Youth Leadership Lawrence program are those who portray strong leadership potential, a desire to serve, and those who can make the time commitment to be at each session, regardless of sports or other activities.

The online application must be completed in its entirety during one session, so we recommend reviewing the application, preparing your responses to section three, and then copy/pasting your responses into the form.

Please allow yourself ample time to complete the application. Once the application is started, do not close the window until you see a successful submission notification. Closing the application window before hitting submit will clear the form. While the form is mobile device compatible, we recommend using a laptop or desktop device to complete the application.

All applications must be received by midnight on August 10, 2023.

If you need any accomodations or assistance with completing the online application, we will gladly offer our help. Please reach out to our office by emailing emma@lawcotn.com or ben@lawcotn.com.

Attendance is expected at each session. Participants must take into account this program is meant to instill leadership qualities; therefore, attendance for all events is expected, regardless of a participant’s extracurricular activities, including sports.

In the event of forces outside the control of Youth Leadership Lawrence, such as but not limited to a natural disaster or pandemic, the structure of the program may change. Leadership Lawrence will make every effort to communicate changes to the schedule and format in a timely manner.

If a student is going to miss a session, the student must call the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce office at 931-762-4911 or email emma@lawcotn.com and ben@lawcotn.com and inform the Youth Leadership coordinators of the situation at least two business days prior to the event.

A schedule of the dates of sessions is included in this application. Please carefully review the schedule to make sure you can commit to attending all Youth Leadership sessions.

All schools will be notified of the applicants selected to participate; however, participants are encouraged to communicate this schedule with school faculty, including teachers and coaches where applicable, so they are aware of this attendance commitment.

Question Title

* 13. Because there are more applicants for Youth Leadership Lawrence than there are spaces, we must ask that participants commit to attending 100% of the year’s program. Absenteeism may result in being dropped from the program. If you are unable to make this commitment, it is not in your best interest to apply at this time.

Are you willing to make such a commitment from September to April?
