You are invited to participate in the research project described below.

What is the project about?
This research project examines your views regarding the teaching of the Musculoskeletal Medicine course within the Adelaide Medical School.

Who is undertaking the project?
Educators and researchers in the Adelaide Medical School involved in the teaching of the musculoskeletal medicine course, lead by Mr Peter Smitham.

Why am I being invited to participate?
You are being invited as you are in year 3, 4, 5, or 6 of the Adelaide University medical course.

What am I being invited to do?
You are being invited to undertake an anonymous online survey which comprises questions about the Musculoskeletal Medicine course.
How much time will my involvement in the project take?
The questionnaire will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Are there any risks associated with participating in this project?
There are no foreseeable risks to completing the survey.

What are the potential benefits of the research project?
The benefits of the project are that the information will be used to inform and potentially improve the teaching of musculoskeletal medicine to medical students.

Can I withdraw from the project?
Your participation is completely voluntary and you can choose not to answer any particular question or any section. You are free to withdraw from the survey at any time prior to submitting your responses. Participation, non-participation or withdrawal will not affect your grades, assessment or standing with the researchers or University in general. As the survey is anonymous we will not be able to identify you after submission. Your completion and submission of the survey indicates your consent to be involved in this research.

What will happen to my information?
No individual answers will be passed on. All information will be securely stored at the University for a minimum of 5 years. The results from the survey will be gathered together and presented in a report and also in scientific publication. As the data are anonymous survey data there is the potential that they may be used in the future by any researchers in any field. Your information will only be used as described in this participant information sheet and it will only be disclosed according to the consent provided, except as required by law.

What if I have a complaint or any concerns?
The study has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee at the University of Adelaide (approval number H-2019-213). This research project will be conducted according to the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research 2007 (Updated 2018).
