Tips for Working with Resistant and Disengaged Clients Training Registration

Join us for this three hour live virtual training that will focus on providing practical skills that can help clinicians build stronger alliances with difficult, defensive or disengaged clients through the use of person-centeredness and motivational interviewing. Tips on how to improve rapport, identify and repair therapeutic ruptures, and increase buy in for treatment will be discussed and practiced through interactive discussions, role-plays and case examples.

This training will help participants better understand, identify and overcome the root causes of resistance and non-engagement in therapy. Participants will be provided with information to help identify different forms of defensive and resistant behaviors that can interfere with treatment, and will learn strategies to help with each
