KSDE is seeking content-area experts from P12 and higher education to revise the program standards used by college and university preparation programs for Building Leadership PreK-12 and District Leadership PreK-12.
This is anticipated to be a single committee revising the preparation standards for both license areas. Committee meetings are planned to be held online.
The committee will be composed of approximately 12-16 members total: 4-6 members from P12, 4-6 members from higher education, and 4 members from stakeholder organizations.
At the committee's first meeting, committee members will select dates for future meetings, approximately 4-6 weeks apart, for April 2026 completion of the standards drafts and crosswalks. It is hoped that the drafts will be ready for public comment in Summer 2026 and can be presented to the State Board of Education for consideration in September 2026.
