The St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin, Job Placement and Training Program is dedicated to supporting you in achieving your career and professional goals. To be eligible for the St. Croix Job Placement and Training Program, you must fulfill the following requirements:

The Job Placement Program assists St. Croix Ojibwe who have job skills to obtain and retain gainful employment lead to self-sufficiency.

  • Be an enrolled member of the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin and/or be a member of a federally recognized tribe according to 25 CFR Part 26.1
  • Reside on or near St. Croix Chippewa Indian of Wisconsin Reservation Communities
  • Individual Self-Sufficiency Plan (ISP); including a list of goods and services needed to get the applicant to the job, signed by the applicant and servicing representative
  • Applicants must be unemployed, under employed or need and can benefit from the employment assistance
  • Complete Job Placement and Training Program Application

What types of Programs Qualify for JPT Funding
There are a number of types of programs and trainings that qualify for JPT funding. They can include funding for vocational trades, New Employment, training, or supplemental assistance that supports the job placement or training activities.
What is an ISP
An Individual Self-Sufficiency Plan is a document that the applicant creates outlining details that are needed to obtain a job, within a reasonable period of time. The ISP will include financial information and resources available and describe how the desired training will help the applicant meet their goals. The ISP will stay active until the applicant completes their training or has terminated the program. Only one ISP can be active at one time, meaning each applicant can only be participating in one training program at a time.
Training Services
Training services is able to be provided through JPT funding. Job training may be approved through the following means (and others):

  • New Employee Assistance Program
  • Nationally accredited vocational training and Professional Development,
  • Training and non-accredited vocational training,
  • Trainings provided by approved service providers, and
  • Apprenticeship training supervised by a state apprenticeship agency.

The Job Placement and Training program is limited. The timing of application submission and required documents may affect award amounts and processing. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit at least 90 days prior to the start of classes and/or training to allow adequate time for processing and minimize the risk of reduced award or loss of funding due to limited resources.
Applicants Rights and Responsibilities

  • I understand the St. Croix Job Placement and Training Program will not be processed until I submit all required documents. I acknowledge that the funding process may take several weeks and that applying early is in my best interest.
  • I acknowledge financial responsibility for fees and charges until the award is processed.
  • I agree that participation in this program is voluntary. As a program recipient, I must meet the program minimum requirements, or may be subject to probation, suspension, and/or financial responsibility.
