About this course
Are you curious to try macrame? Macrame is a form of textile art that involves using knots to create unique projects and designs including plant hangers, wall hangings, bags and jewelry. Popular in the 60’s and 70’s, the art of macrame has made a recent resurgence.
Join Sarah for this four-week course and learn the fundamentals of this versatile textile art. At the end of the course, you will have the skills and confidence to create your own macrame projects!
When: Thursday evenings 6:30pm – 8:30pm from Thursday 20 Feb to Thursday 13 Mar
Where: Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios - 164 Longueville Road, Lane Cove
Cost: $260 for four weeks (10% discount for two or more registrations)

· How to get started with macrame: tools, equipment, and setting up a workstation
· The fundamental knots used in macrame
· How to create your own patterns using square knots, clove hitch knots and more advanced knots
· How to create simple projects including a plant hanger, two-tone coaster and wall hanging
· You will also complete a major project of your choice during the course

What to bring
For this course, you will need to bring your own scissors, dressmaker's measuring tape and macrame cord for your major project. All other supplies and equipment will be provided for the course. Information about where to purchase macrame cord will be emailed to you upon registration.
