The following survey will take less than 5 minutes and your input will help us in our efforts across the country.

Over the past several years, the voices of patients and providers played a critical role in passing step therapy reform legislation in 30 states, including a law in your state. These successes were in partnership with the State Access to Innovative Medicines Coalition (SAIM).

These state laws require health plans to implement a timely and medically reasonable process by which patients and their providers can request an exception to a step therapy requirement. In general, state laws apply to small group and individual plans, and fully-insured plans. In addition to these state laws, there is ongoing work on federal legislation that will extend these protections to all employer plans, both fully-insured and self-insured.

As an expert in your field, we hope you will complete this brief survey on step therapy reform. The survey data will be used 1) to ensure the state laws are working for patients and providers 2) to provide updates to the state legislature and hard-working legislative leaders and sponsors who worked tirelessly on the bill and 3) use the feedback/stories on how well the state law is working to gain support for the federal bill.
